I am in love with Jesus; constantly finding ways to get closer to Him. He romances me and is patient with me, even when I stray.

Mickey Kelly

I just want to recognize today as a day of sorrow, but a day of joy!
Today a year ago, a friend of mine was taken from this earth, but he was brought into his new home with Christ Jesus our savior and friend!
I will be thinking about his family today, and praying for them.
I miss you Mick. Hope to see you soon.

Zechariah 3

Many years ago, my youth pastor Clayton told us to read a passage from Zechariah. This is what it said: (minus verse 10)

1 Then he showed me Joshua [a] the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan [b] standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?"
3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes."
Then he said to Joshua, "See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you."

5 Then I said, "Put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the LORD stood by.

6 The angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua: 7 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
8 " 'Listen, O high priest Joshua and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. 9 See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes [c] on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.

God has stripped me clean of all of my sin, given me a new life in Him. He snatched me from the fire, to do something special for Him. Like a branch plucked from the fire. Burning with God's passion.
God is going to use me if I let Him. He will use me to save people. To have charge over many spiritual lives. If I will keep my ways pure, walk in His light, and obey His commands. I know that God has put a higher calling on my life. It sounds way better and more fulfilling than what the world has to offer.
Just something for you guys you think about.
I love you all.

Idiot.

Well, today I had a meeting with Jordan, and totally flubbed it up. Hahahaha! I swear I get so nervous I can't think, and then I laugh like a fool the whole time, and say weird things that don't make sense. BUT! At least he laughed. Hahahaha! OH MAN! At least he laughed.........

Plugged In.

So far, life has been a blast. I can't wait to continue to see what God can do.
I have been praying a lot lately, and my heart has been opened to pray when the Holy Spirit promts me. It's an amazing feeling!
The dorm is empty for the next couple of days because everyone is in Beaumont, and I have the chance to be alone. An AMAZING feeling! God is doing so much in my life! Everyday is the same old routine, but there is a bounce in my step, and a smile on my face. Faith in knowing that God is gonna do what He wants, and I'm going to be the clay He chooses to move.
That's all for now.
All my love.

Seven Student Ministries

Hello!
Today was my first day as an intern for Seven Student Ministries. (I called it a youth group, and everyone laughed. I won't make that mistake again.)
It was a lot of fun!
I got to make phone calls to students telling them about prayer before service that they are starting, and although the phones were being stupid, I think I did ok.
I also got to write a letter to all of the student leaders in Seven. (There are about 120 of them.) That was a little bit stressful, considering I just do not feel like I have the skills to write a letter to all of them.
This is what it said:

Dear Student Leader:

We are so excited about the new year and the ideas we have for Seven! We want to inform you that we are having prayer before service on Wednesday nights at 5:30pm until 6:15pm. It is important that we come together and pray for the students in our communities, so we are asking you to attend and be a part of what God is doing.
As we head into the new year, we encourage you to grow in your relationship with God, and
continue to lead your generation.
Thank you for all you do,

Michael Baier

Of course, I wrote the letter, not Michael Baier. I find it funny how most pastors that are really busy, sometimes don't write the letters themselves, but have someone else write it for them, and then they (the pastor) critique it,and let that person (being me) print it off, put it in envelopes, and send it away.
120 letters put manually in envelopes, manually addressed, and sent away. HAHA.
I am enjoying learning about behind the scenes work, and also ecstatic about working under great pastors and doing what I can to help them out.
I can't wait to spend the rest of the year learning all I can.

There were seven different ministries INSIDE just being a youth leader that I could choose from. I really felt like God was pushing me towards Development. Development is all about the spiritual growth of the student. Teaching them through prayer, lifestyle, and classes. Not to mention helping push them along in their spiritual growth. I am totally going to love that, and I am SUPER excited to be able to do that. My heart is there, with students spiritual growth.
The pastor that heads up development is new, and he's only 21. His name is Jordan, and he has another youth leader kinda heading it up with him named Blake. Then comes me. I'm the intern. I get to learn everything about what Jordan is doing with student development. I'm a little worried, because I think we will probably be learning at the same time, but, that makes it more fun!
Anyways, that is all I have time for now.
Love you guys.
Later!

Sleep

Well, for the last three days, I have been quarenteened to my house. The other day, (who knows which one, since they all ran together with me laying in bed ALL DAY) I was sick of laying in my bed, so I took a blanket laid it on the lawn, and slept outside for some time, in seventy degree weather. Talk about a nice winter day.
I have decided that I refuse to be sick, and I'm going to take hold of my healing. NO more sick for me. I can't afford to be sick. I'm way to busy.
So, I'm sitting at this computer, typing to all of you, and praying my way through the day.
I have lost some weight, (YAY) and need some new pants. Hmmm. I don't know how that's gonna work, but ok.
ANswer to prayer: I'm getting my car fixed today for FREE! God is amazing and is continuing to bless me even when I don't deserve it! Well, I need to work on studying, so I'll talk to ya'll later!

Down with the dogs

Hey everybody.
I woke up the day of the 28th feeling pretty sickly.
Did I do anything about it? NOPE. Why would I ever think of doing that?
Hahaha. So, now I'm back in Dallas, and I don't have any insurance. Plus, I am still feeling sick. Thank God for doctors that go to my church. A doctor stopped at the girl's dorm, and took a look at me. He says that I either have tonsulitis, or mono. He is leaning more towards mono. STINKY. That means I just have to sit around and wait for me to get better. Please keep me in your prayers.
I'm sure I will feel better soon. I have too much to do to stay sick.
I'll keep you guys posted.
Later!

Where the Armadillo's run

Hey! Back to Texas where there is no yellow snow, or salt lines on my jeans! YAY!
I am glad to inform you all that I had a safe trip, and life is good!
Along with the many things I did at Christmas time, I also caught a wonderous cold! Good Ol' Minnesota! Sigh! Needless to say I am DEFINITELY glad to be back. Though I do miss all my Minnesota buddies. Up in the fridged north. Poor people.
